The Crown of Red Cliff: The View: Golden Os
Golden Os 2006 Voting

This year's graphical theme was NVIATWAS, better known as Naked Victoria in a Temple With A Sword. I of course, replaced the classic DAZ figure of Victoria (now in version 4!) with Vulcan. Since we had 4 voting periods, which overlapped, I scheduled the 3 major Vulcans to cover them all.

I did T'Pol First. It's a real challenge to create a figure without any clothes that fits most Terms of Service. You must make sure that nothing that a bikini is required to cover is visible. It took about 12 renders before I was satisfied enough to use this one. Not that problems don't exist with this one. In particular, it doesn't look like T'Pol is touching the ground, which she is. This uses Daz's Greek Bath Temple for the Temple.

I've come to the conclusion that it's very hard to make a match with Tuvok. This is render number 22 on this project, and I still don't think I got his face right. Eventually, I decided that enough was enough on it. With Tuvok, I used the Amorah Nights Sword and Sheild, as well as the original (no longer available) Alcomy Chasm. I expriemented with reflections on the sword, but it didn't turn out to be very visiable, even in the original size.

Spock is easy. There is a lovely freebie on his face, though I had to modify it to make it younger. His hair is also free. As for the Temple? Well, the Egyptian Temple I got from DAZ came fairly cheap, as it was on it's intial release special. The problem with males is that it's harder to block what shouldn't be seen. Spock should be glad that it took a large vase to cover him. On Neon Genisis Evangelion, Shinji Ikari's coverage was first a bottle of beer, then a labeled bottle of toothpicks.

Golden Os 2006 Dinner

This year's dinner is at Treksmut University, in a not quite finished John M. Ford Hall ... here are some of the pictures given of it.
A view from the head of the second set of tables before the awards. This allows you to see the stage and the front three tables. The blue background is a temporary wall, while the TSU Visitor Quarters in the building are finished.

Note the fountain on the right, and the clam shell located above the logo. T'Pol would eventually place herself there. The podium comes from Stephen's classroom, and is a veteran of Sh*ttl*cr*ft attacks. Tucker and Archer would eventually take up a position to the right and left of the stairs on top of that marble fence.
A close up of the stage reveals the fact that the stairs are mostly for show. Note the planet suspended above the stage. This is the classic Venus that we've been using in awards graphics in various forms since 2000. The Venus model has been used for the last two years. Previous to that it was just a flat image.
Awards Coordinator Stephen (me) takes the stage. The podium got used for the first few presentations, but it was to later mysteriously disappear. Rumors are that a sh*ttl*cr*ft stole it, but perhaps that's just my opinion.
