5Pride Day by Mark Russel Stanley
ROTFL! "Do a thing"?! Why Garak didn't run at that suggestion is beyond me. Mark, you are an evil man and this sequel is even funnier than the original. You're not planning a series, by any chance, are you?

9Who's Afraid of Intendant Kira? by Kathryn Ramage
I admit, I'm always a sucker for any fanfic that tries to rewrite a classic, and this is a very good one. I could almost see Liz and Dick playing this one out--in black leather, no less! It stayed true to the original while staying well within canon. Very good job!

5Pride Day by Mark Russel Stanley
Mark did it again. With Stark's help of course! How many people can throw themselves into a story literally and get the enthusiastic response Mark did? Not many. As for the story itself, fantastic. I think it was even better than the first one. Garak doing Rocky Horror must have stayed in my mind for weeks! As for the end, with Martok, totally unexpected, and hysterical! Keep up the good work!

2Emigre by Mark Russel Stanley
Mark writes the relationship between Garak and Bashir well, caring but not saccharine sweet and I think does well by both characters. I like the way he conveys Garak's slyness and I had to smile at his teasing that he just might change the ending in a work of literature he's describing. Mark describes well a world in the midst of reconstruction and it's interestingly ironic to see the reversal in circumstances between Garak and Bashir.

3The Hand Once Bitten Now Fed by Melissa
I thought Melissa's "The Hand, Once Bitten, Now Fed" was an effective post-Dominion war Cardassia story. I liked how she wrote Garak's point of view as he wanders among the destruction of his planet. I like the line about how the blankness on the faces of the Starfleet officers around him wasn't stoicism, "but a sense of being overwhelmed" as they faced the destruction around them. I very much liked how she described the state of Julian's letter, worn to feeling like suede, and how she described how Garak sees Julian and their relationship and especially about different kinds of innocence. A very enjoyable, well-written Garak/Bashir story.

5Pride Day by Mark Russel Stanley
It was fun to see the return of Mark's hilarious alter-ego, Stark Manley. I thought the story was really cute, fun and funny especially Bashir's performance to the tune of I'm Too Sexy and the image of him in a g-string was delicious. The banter afterwards with Daxie and the last line was funny.

9Who's Afraid of Intendant Kira? by Kathryn Ramage
The format of Kathryn Ramage's Who's Afraid of Intendant Kira?, that of a story told as a script complete in three acts, was very novel and very interesting and very well done. Given that almost all of the story consisted of dialogue, the story was especially fast-paced and really zipped past. It made for a quick and gripping read. The story also had quite a few humorous touches and featured a really good twist ending. I certainly liked how in Who's Afraid of Intendant Kira? Kathryn Ramage played with the Mirror Universe that we saw in Deep Space Nine. It's always great to read a Mirror story that shows real imagination rather than being an excuse for sexual brutality. I felt the author was completely in control of her writing and of her characterizations, themes, and style. I really enjoyed Kira and Garak in this story. I liked how the story ended by answering the question set by the title. A very well done story.

2Emigre by Mark Russel Stanley
Julian was nicely frustrated by the administration but it would have been better if there had also been an intriguing mystery (like disappearing medical supplies) for Garak to solve.

3The Hand Once Bitten Now Fed by Melissa
The descriptions of Cardassia after the war were very were very well, uh, described.

6To Wong Julian by Gul Occett
HehHeh. Wish I could have seen Julian all dressed up. Good story.

3The Hand Once Bitten Now Fed by Melissa
This story is based on Andy Robinson's novel, A Stitch In Time, and deftly matches that book's tone and style, so much so that I didn't notice at first that it was in third person while the novel was in first person. The image of the excavation of the nursery stayed with me, as did the description of the letter worn to softness through handling.

1 Embracing Forever by Gul Occett
I'm terrible at evaluating the quality of poetry, but I enjoyed this one.

4Mirror Pain by A. Kite
This is an idea that several G/B authors have explored: Bashir facing Garak after being raped by Mirror Garak. I particularly enjoyed this one by A. Kite. There's almost no dialogue, which makes Garak's gentle command at the end stand out. The story is emotional without being overwrought, and the style of the narrative helps to illustrate Bashir's exhaustion, confusion, and pain.

2Emigre by Mark Russel Stanley
This thoughtful story, in which Bashir ends up as an exiled political suspect and comes to understand just how Garak must have felt, vividly portrays the suffering that results when nations come to regard ideology as more important than people. Excellent fic.

4Mirror Pain by A. Kite
Now that you mention it, I'm sure the Mirror Garak must have done more than strut around blowing kisses, too. A creative concept and a well-executed story.

5Pride Day by Mark Russel Stanley
Hee! I'm not sure which image made me giggle more -- Garak's Rocky Horror drag or Bashir's striptease. Fun!
