Alara\'s exemplary portrayal of Q has earned her a well-deserved place as one of the best fanfic authors around. The expert pacing and flow of her writing along with flawless characterization combine to create wonderful stories that are a pleasure to read.

Now that this mysterious masked author has posted several vignettes containing lovely poetic imagery, we truly hope she will come forward and join the ASC community.

Two of Catherine\'s stories this year did a beautiful job rectifying the sloppy \'shipping in a certain pro-novel. Her well-written vignettes prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the pro-authors should leave the \'shipping in the loving, capable hands of the fanfic authors.

This year Heather escaped from a horrific disaster enduring losses unimaginable to most of us. Yet, she continued to write and post to ASC showing the same brave determination she imbibes her characters with. It is our sincere hope that all future tragedies stay confined to the pages of her stories. Godspeed, Heather.

KK Glinka brilliantly weaves loose threads from canon into a captivating and intricate story that fill in what canon left out.

This author\'s unique take and strong emphasis on the character of Beverly Crusher gives her stories a very distinct perspective. TPTB are often criticized for allowing Crusher to fade into the background. This author rectifies that in each and every story she writes.

Nobody does Q like Alara, and few come close to her in scope of world-building and creating fascinating situations. So glad to see you back in Trek.

This dynamic duo has a certain flair when it comes to Picard’s love life. But even more so, I love their adventure stories, exemplified by this year\'s “Mithras.” May you keep on going strong in years to come!

This has been a terrible year for our dear friend Heather, who, after gracing us with such wonderful writing has been afflicted with such horrific losses. I\'m so glad you came through it, and while you may have lost so many things, please know you will never lose your fans and your friends. Unless of course, you don\'t resolve the current story - and soon!
Heather, you writing is, as always, delightful. I love your take on the Captain and Beverly, even though I still don\'t understand why you must be so mean to them - and to us! Your plots are creative, your original characters - just that: original. They transcend the one-dimensional characatures that many aliens ten to be, with insights, ideologies and cultures of their own, and that do not always coincide with those of humans. It\'s refreshing to see them not just as bad guys or good guys, but a combination of both - as are most people. I\'ve also seen your writing style begin to expand with some of your shorter pieces; that seems to be a huge step into another realm of your work, and one that I\'ve enjoyed - and sometimes not enjoyed - reading. When you\'re not doing the serialized stories, you really focus on the more intimate aspects of the stories, and it is quite enjoyable to read, as well as showing off your literary skills. I do hope that next year we will see more of these shorter tales (still about the Captain and Beverly, of course), as well as your longer serials. But would you puh-lease get them - and the baby - off the planet? I don\'t think I can take another week of them lingering down there. Oh, and by the way, if the captain\'s yacht or the shuttle or whatever they were on, happens to come out of warp (for any reason), they don\'t continue on at warp speed. Therefore the Will shouldn\'t have any problems tracking down the crashed shuttle. Okay? Now please have the the Enterprise go get them. Thank you.
