5Friendly Fire Part I by Barbara Watson
In the latest installment of Barb's Connect the Dots series, Barb continues to amaze me. I absolutely loved it. We get a wonderful portrayal of Chakotay's feelings concerning the relationship. I also love any time we are shown any of Tom's holodeck programs and the New Years Eve party is by far my favorite. From the invitation and Christmas gift, to the "threat" that Harry may tag along, to Tom's last minute attempt to make sure that Harry won't, to the party itself......it was absolutely wonderful and Barb's descriptions were dead on. Lastly, I was very impressed that Barb thought to include Lyndsay Ballard this early on. I can only sit patiently and wait for Barb to work her magic on the Harry-Lyndsay relationship as the Tom-B'elanna one progresses further. There is no doubt in my mind that Barb deserves this award for the second year in a row.

12The Sweetest Days by Seema
Ah, Glory Days. This installment was a sweet, deceptively reassuring Paris and Torres read.
-- Ananke - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 14:22:52 -0500

9Letters to Neelix by Barbara Watson
Wonderful story! Tom and B'Elanna's characterizations were spot on and it was interesting to hear snippets from their post-Endgame lives, such as the Doctor spoiling Miral with toys, the 'assimilated' doll and Miral doting over the poor dog.
-- BASICman - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 22:30:34 -0500

10One For The Family Scrapbook by P. L. Heyes~~DangerMom
I loved this story! I really liked the way DangerMom wrote Miral and her ability to get into trouble. Spot on characterizations for Tom and B'Elanna as well as a very intriguing plot. I actually read this more than once.
-- BASICman - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 22:33:47 -0500

8Irrevocably Tied by Deede
Great story that tells the post-Voyager life as I think it might very well have turned out to be. I like the jumps between past and present and how Tom and B'Elanna's feelings towards each other and the pain they experience are portrayed.
-- Bee - Mon, 24 Mar 2003 07:15:58 -0500

10One For The Family Scrapbook by P. L. Heyes~~DangerMom
What a thoroughly delightful story! I really enjoyed this 'snapshot' of the Paris-Torres clan. I got a real kick out of the image of Miral riding on a targ with her cousins' encouragement, and I can just see the looks on Tom's and B'Elanna's faces. There are many other lovely 'family' moments as well.
-- Rocky - Tue, 25 Mar 2003 09:27:42 -0500

3The Cliff's Edge by Deede
This is a terrific B'Elanna-centric fic. Deede captures B'Elanna's thoughts perfectly. Indeed, it's a fitting coda to "Extreme Risk."
-- Seema - Fri, 28 Mar 2003 22:55:17 -0500

4The First Taste by Deede
A lovely Tom perspective. Nice job.
-- Seema - Fri, 28 Mar 2003 22:55:58 -0500

5Friendly Fire Part I by Barbara Watson
Barbara's "Connect the Dots" series is highly ambitious and this latest edition thrills just as the previous ones did. As always, Barb seamlessly weaves her own material in with canon and her characterizations are right on.
-- Seema - Fri, 28 Mar 2003 22:57:06 -0500

9Letters to Neelix by Barbara Watson
This is one of my favorite P/T stories of this year. Barb really knows how to get the voices exactly right. I love the proud fatherly Tom in this fic and the way Barb manages to gives us a happy ending for all of the VOY characters.
-- Seema - Fri, 28 Mar 2003 23:00:30 -0500

10One For The Family Scrapbook by P. L. Heyes~~DangerMom
This fic is vintage DangerMom and it's a real treat to have another story from her. I really enjoyed the Paris-Torres family's vacation on the Klingon homeworld and the image of Miral riding a targ is absolutely priceless. The characterizations were also perfect. I'd love to see more from DM in the coming year. Please?
-- Seema - Fri, 28 Mar 2003 23:04:22 -0500

11Repeat by Rocky
This is quintessential meta-fic - more to the story than meets the eye on first read. And of course, the image of Tom slumped on the sofa with a bowl of popcorn on his stomach is absolutely adorable.
-- Seema - Fri, 28 Mar 2003 23:07:15 -0500

13Tom's Big Day by Rocky
I'm biased, but I love this fic so very much. A day that starts out bad, gets progressively worse, and then happily, as the proverb goes, all good things come to those who wait. A very fun fic, filled with humorous and sweet moments. Definitely a must-read fic for anyone who enjoys P/T.
-- Seema - Fri, 28 Mar 2003 23:09:38 -0500

5Friendly Fire Part I by Barbara Watson
Wow! I love the "Connect the P/T Dots" series. This installment takes a few small details and weaves them into a warm and entertaining piece. The characters are so well-written, the dialogue very natural, and the introspective comments/paragraphs right on target. And the character names in the "steamy" novel -- what a hoot! The story has everything -- compelling characters [if they weren't so well-written, they would not be so compelling], interesting settings, humor, conflict, and romance. What a great read.
-- Kathie - Fri, 28 Mar 2003 23:22:18 -0500

10One For The Family Scrapbook by P. L. Heyes~~DangerMom
A sweet and amusing story. This author writes so well, so naturally, so consistently, her work is always a pleasure to read. I love how a canon reference about a stuffed targ works its way into a delightful tale. The characters are written well and the author has a good feel for Klingon speech and mannerisms. A very enjoyable read.
-- Kathie - Fri, 28 Mar 2003 23:51:49 -0500

11Repeat by Rocky
This was a cute twist, but I was sure they were watching Enterprise.
-- Jemima - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 22:00:55 -0500

13Tom's Big Day by Rocky
This was a fun birthday tale. I didn't feel sorry for Tom for a minute, but he and Harry were cute when they were fishing for pips.
-- Jemima - Sat, 29 Mar 2003 22:01:38 -0500

12The Sweetest Days by Seema
Consider this the calm before the storm in the GD series. Tom and B'Elanna have a quiet moment to reflect on their lives at present, their hopes and fears for the future, to take stock of everything they fear they may be about to lose. The mood is quiet, the tone affectionate. Seen in the retrospective of what is about to come, it makes the reader feel good that P/T have this moment to draw strength from. As always, Seema does a masterful job with this couple.
-- Rocky - Sun, 30 Mar 2003 08:25:48 -0500

2Blood Fever Revisited by Brigid
An interesting reprise with variations on the ep.

3The Cliff's Edge by Deede
Interesting look at Torres' demons.
-- Rabble Rouser - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 04:11:24 -0500

4The First Taste by Deede
Nice tying of Paris' emotions for flying and Torres.
-- Rabble Rouser - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 04:12:14 -0500

5Friendly Fire Part I by Barbara Watson
I loved the first installment of the "PT Connect the Dots" series last year, "Barriers" and this latest episode does not disappoint. That story captured so well the early Paris and Torres when they were still getting to know each other and learning to trust. Trust is also a theme of this story as they build on their friendship. I liked the appearance of the amusement park from that story at the beginning of this one. Each story doesn't just connect the dots of the relationship though but interweaves it's own scenes and plot. Nor are other relationships neglected. The couples' interactions with Harry and Chakotay are well done too. The author really nails all the voices. (There are spots of humor too--I loved the excerpts of the "bodice-ripper" B'Elanna finds on a PADD. I thought the names of the hero and heroine of that one was a particularly nice touch). I loved the scene with the New Year's Eve party the most. Sweetly romantic. Barbara Watson is a skillful writer who really knows her craft and "PT Connect the Dots: Friendly Fire" reads as smoothly as any profic--only with the wealth of feeling with delivered by the best of fan fiction.
-- Rabble Rouser - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 04:13:19 -0500

6Of Heroes and Men by Deede
Nice coda tying up some loose ends in "Memorial."
-- Rabble Rouser - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 04:14:12 -0500

7Intimate Relations by Deede
Nice look at B'Elanna's and Tom's thoughts and I liked the alternating point of views.
-- Rabble Rouser - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 04:14:57 -0500

8Irrevocably Tied by Deede
With all the stories about what brings our favored pairs together, it was interesting to see a story about what stress could drive them apart.
-- Rabble Rouser - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 04:15:29 -0500

9Letters to Neelix by Barbara Watson
I liked this series of letters to Neelix from two of his Voyager friends back in the Alpha Quadrant post-Endgame. I was charmed from the beginning by Paris' account of Miral "assimilating" her doll into the Borg because she wants it to look more like Auntie Annika. No doubt like Neelix, I found myself greatly enjoying finding out what had happened to everyone after the end of Voyager's trek. I enjoyed how this shuttled back and forth between letters from Tom and B'Elanna and felt the writer really nailed their voices and personalities. I loved the thoughts about what the real heritage is of their children.
-- Rabble Rouser - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 04:16:36 -0500

10One For The Family Scrapbook by P. L. Heyes~~DangerMom
I enjoyed this Paris family tale. "One for the Family Scrapbook" is a charming girl-and-her-targ story. I liked how Dangermom drew B'Elanna's Klingon relations and little Miral. Fun and well-written and characterized.
-- Rabble Rouser - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 04:17:42 -0500

11Repeat by Rocky
As someone who thinks *Galaxy Quest* was the best Trek movie made (after *The Wrath of Khan*) and a fan of VS 7.5, I certainly enjoyed the premise of this story immensely. "Repeat" is one funny story. Loved the line about the show being under new management. (If only we were that lucky...)
-- Rabble Rouser - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 04:18:24 -0500

12The Sweetest Days by Seema
This is another special installment in the "Glory Days Universe" by Seema. In the immortal words of Tom Paris, I love this zoo! There was more than one laugh out loud moment in this charming story. Seema always brings something special to the way she writes about Paris and Torres. Seema sets up the cozy domesticality of the Paris household so well, that it was a real jolt when the talk turned to rumors of war. As we go through our own rumors of war in our own time, that entire scenario takes on a lot of resonance--and gave those "sweetest days" a lot of poignancy. And so in a series that at first focused on the everyday, the personal, the plot began as they say to thicken!
-- Rabble Rouser - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 04:19:12 -0500

13Tom's Big Day by Rocky
Rocky gave Seema a Paris/Torres tale for her birthday and the best part is that we all get to share the present! She writes this pair with chemistry to burn. This story reminds me a little of one of my favorite Voy episodes, "Day of Honor" with everything that can go wrong happening to poor B'Elanna. The part about all that went wrong at first for poor Tom Paris was hilarious. I loved the line about how if his hairline receded much further he'd be a genius! And I could just see Tom's quarters being the unholy mess Rocky described. I loved the bit of Janeway and Chakotay she sneaked in with than laschivious grin from Chakotay, and her description of Janeway sloshed in the Arachnia outfit was hysterical. And the ending was nicely romantic. Very, very nice. "Tom's Big Day" is one very enjoyable story.
-- Rabble Rouser - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 04:19:52 -0500

14The Undertow by Deede

Funny! Some of that hit a little too close to home. :) "This is still just television, right?" Indeed. Sweet, amusing and the end is just hilarious!
-- Elise - Thu, 03 Apr 2003 09:53:37 -0500

11Repeat by Rocky
This is a cute P/T story. Leave it to Paris to think a night of watching television is the perfect way to spend an evening with Torres. And the program he's watching - a scream. Rocky writes good humor stories and I'm glad to see more from her along those lines.
-- Cait N. - Thu, 03 Apr 2003 20:03:48 -0500

5Friendly Fire Part I by Barbara Watson
THe sweetest dance btw Paris and Torres in the internet. I am amazed at the depth, imagination, and hard work that the author put into the stories, balancing some disparaging eposides. The growing relationship here is so much more interesting than the show.
-- Winnie - Thu, 03 Apr 2003 23:06:30 -0500

10One For The Family Scrapbook by P. L. Heyes~~DangerMom
One of the best P/T and Miral story this year. Love the antics of the kids and moms' reactions, be they Klingon or Human.
-- Winnie - Thu, 03 Apr 2003 23:14:20 -0500

12The Sweetest Days by Seema
The relationship between Tom and B'Elanna is one of the great points in the Glory Day universe. For me, it represent a hope for happily ever after. The fact tht Tom's primary priority is the family felt absolutely right. The humor and banter btw Tom and B'Elanna made this a joy to read.
-- Winnie - Thu, 03 Apr 2003 23:17:39 -0500

12The Sweetest Days by Seema
B'Elanna confronting Tom with a bat'leth is a great start to any story. Their conversation about the risk of war is somber; Seema captures both their sense of duty and of inevitability very well, as well as foreshadowing future events in the Glory Days series.
-- Jemima - Thu, 03 Apr 2003 23:53:14 -0500

9Letters to Neelix by Barbara Watson
Very nice. It's so happy and sad and *finale*. "That's his heritage" - that line really registered with me. Lovely.

Hee, this was funny! What would our poor suffering Voyager characters think of such ridiculous plots, indeed!

13Tom's Big Day by Rocky
A fun, lighthearted story. I'm glad poor Tom's day didn't stay as rotten as it started out!

10One For The Family Scrapbook by P. L. Heyes~~DangerMom
The Paris-Torres family on vacation on the Klingon homeworld--what fun! Patty has always had a deft touch with P/T and with P/T family stories--"The Crayon Story" is still one of my all-time favorites--but this one is a real winner, too. Highly recommended.
-- jamelia - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 22:54:12 -0500

13Tom's Big Day by Rocky
Rocky can even make a "birthday" story a ton of fun. In this one, everything seems to be going wrong for Tom on his special day, but it all turns out pretty well for him in the long run! Nice.
-- jamelia - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 22:56:09 -0500

12The Sweetest Days by Seema
I really love Paris-Torres family stories. This "Glory Days" entry is a lovely one, showing a very lively family (just the way I imagine it) but with an ominous overtone that will be developed in further stories. Still, it's a very sweet story of the highest quality, just as all the "Glory Days" stories are.
-- jamelia - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 22:59:07 -0500
