3Annie M
She gives us interesting ways to see a character. Ie: The final candle.

43Seema
She makes the characters seem real.
-- Michele - Sat, 22 Mar 2003 11:38:17 -0500

39Rocky
She gives a wonderful insight into the character.
-- Michele - Sat, 22 Mar 2003 11:38:43 -0500

52Whoa Nellie
Anyone who can put Chakotay and Beverly Crusher together...and make it make sense...has my respect. Beautiful works.
-- Ananke - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 14:52:36 -0500

43Seema
Seema never fails to amaze and never disappoints.
-- Ananke - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 14:53:18 -0500

39Rocky
Rocky always manages to pull a story through...with grace, affection, and respect for all involved.
-- Ananke - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 14:55:00 -0500

30nostalgia
Angst, glorious angst! Nostalgia was the first Enterprise author I read, and remains the best, and my favorite.
-- Ananke - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 14:55:57 -0500

18Djinn
Beautiful, evocative writer.
-- Ananke - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 14:56:37 -0500

7Boadicea
Boadicea is one of the few writers I actively anticipate new works from. Her Voyager stories are better than a mug of coffee.
-- Ananke - Sun, 23 Mar 2003 14:58:12 -0500

4Barbara Watson
Barbara Watson's a skillful writer. Her stories are as smoothly written as any profic--but with the wealth of feeling of the best of fan fiction. Her latest P/T: Connect the Dots does not disappoint. It's sweetly romantic at times but with glints of humor. She nails all the voices. I also liked "Letters to Neelix."
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 08:30:06 -0500

7Boadicea
I loved Boadicea's collaboration wi Kelly "Going Away" They made something as prosaic as buttons seem sensuous. The structure of a series of drabbles really works in that story that has what is the most unlikely threesome I can think of: Janeway, Seven, and Neelix. Simply wonderful writing.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 08:30:44 -0500

10Christina
I enjoyed Christina's fic this year especially the charming "Wigglewort."
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 08:31:19 -0500

11Christinecgb
I loved Christine's Voyager story this year "The Albatross." Christine's stories always feature such lovely writing and such vivid characterizations. Even when a story features a very familiar, popular pairing, she finds a way to make it fresh.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 08:34:34 -0500

18Djinn
I loved Djinn's contributions to Voyfic this year. Her drabble "No Comment" was fun, her J/C fics "Day of the Dead" and "Morning Light" were sweetly romantic, and her Chakotay/Seven story "Alone" was lyrical and powerful. I loved how Djinn drew the contrasts between Janeway and Chakotay in "Morning Light," his heavy seriousness and her lightheartedness. "Day of the Dead" was wonderfully atmospheric story with a great twist. And "Alone" was simply wonderful, one of the most memorable tales of the year in my opinion. Poetic, weird, and moving. I loved the changes that Djinn rang on the etymology and meanings of the very word "alone."
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 08:38:36 -0500

22Janet (Jamelia)
I enjoyed Jamelia's contributions to VS 7.5 this year. Her story with Rocky "Ripples in Time" is wonderfully imaginative. The story written with Christina "Little Feat" a lot of fun, and I loved how her "Sanctuary" took us to see Kes again and find out what had happened to her.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 08:41:08 -0500

24Jemima
Jemima is a wonderful, gifted writer whose works posted on ASC this year ranged from clever filks that actually scan to wonderful, imaginative, thought provoking short stories. I found "The Lamn'rau" a fascinating look at the Hansens' days aboard the Raven when Seven was still little Annika, a human girl gripping. I loved how Jemima used the legends and the mentions of Romulans in the tale with the Romulan word for Borg supplying her title. I loved the entire story down to the chilling last line that would be innocuous out of context. "What's Left of Her" is a very interesting AU tale. I found the speculation of the nature of the Borg Queen and the collective fascinating. The ending, particularly that last line, is a heartbreaker. I thought "Efficiency Expert," "Than Fade Away" and "Beta Energy" was hilarious and liked the Chakotay of such stories as "Honey Dew" and "Thrive." Jemima wrote some of my favorite Voyager fic posted to ASC this year.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 08:44:34 -0500

25Julie Evans (Julie)
I enjoyed Julie's "Hero for the Times." It was damn funny and captured the Doctor's personality well. The aliens Voyager had to negotiate with and the problem they encountered were interesting and original. And I LOVED how the Doctor's holonovel figured in resolving things.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 08:46:45 -0500

26Kelly
I loved Kelly's Voyager stories this year. She's such a wonderful stylist with such interesting insights into characters, particularly her favorite, Janeway, whose charisma she's very good at showing. I loved the story "Chakotay and It" for its insights into the characters. I like how this story tackles themes very familiar in Janeway/Chakotay stories and does so in fresh ways. "Swing Time" was completely enjoyable. Kelly herself calls it "fluff." Maybe so, but it is wonderful fluff that I found a delight. "Starlight" impressed with its lyricism and Kelly's collaboration with Boadicea "Going Away" is something special.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 08:49:17 -0500

29monkee
I enjoyed Monkee's Voyfic this year a lot. I'm not a soft touch for holographic characters and yet I still found "The Man in 119" moving and affecting even on second read. I liked how Monkee related the tale from an observer at a remove. "The Last Nacelle," is a poignant tale of Joe Carey that is all the more affecting given his canon fate. In the way of a similar conversation between the gals in "Just Plain Mean" from last year, "Advice from Someone Who's Been There" was fun and witty with more than one laugh-out-loud moment. "Peacock Blue" was damn funny too. All are very enjoyable stories. From Monkee you can never expect anything less.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 08:52:02 -0500

30nostalgia
I loved her "Stockholm Syndrome" with its take on the Janeway/Seven relationship.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 08:53:07 -0500

31not jenny
I loved "All This is Window Dressing." It made good use of both the second person and the future tense. A stylish tale with interesting interpretations of what is turning out to be a ubiquitous triangle in fanfic given what we were given in Endgame, Janeway, Chakotay, and Seven.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 08:54:22 -0500

34Penny Proctor
Penny is one of my favorite fanfic writers. Her answer to a challenge "Oasis" was truly a treat. It's wonderful to read Janeway and Chakotay in Penny's hands. The twist gave me a shiver, it was absolutely not what I was expecting (yet the story played fair with the reader) and I loved that. Her other stories this year were contributions, mostly short, to VS.7.5. My favorite of those is "In the Course of Justice" which covers much of the same ground as her already classic "Revisionist History" and yet manages to have a fresh take on the events upon Voyager's return home.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 08:56:22 -0500

39Rocky
Rocky has written some standout VOYfic in more than one series this year. There are also some fine stand alone stories. I liked her J/C "Easy" and "Quit" and loved her P/T "Tom's Big Day" which was a great deal of fun. But I think her strongest stories this year can be found in her contributions to VS 7.5 and the Glory Days stories. Rocky's "Saints and Sinners" was my favorite VS 7.5 story this year and imo a standout among her fic. This is Rocky at her best weaving together so deftly the personal and political and the machinations of the brass. Her VS 7.5 "Ripples in Time," co-written with Janet, was wonderfully imaginative. And of course there are the Glory Days stories, which Rocky sparked off in the story that gave the series its name and is itself one of my favorite Voy stories written this year. Besides that story, I'd also cite "Stand by Me" as a standout with it's lovely depiction of the bond bet Tuvok and Janeway and the story written with Seema, "Empty Sky." Rocky's fic is never anything less than enjoyable.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 09:00:14 -0500

43Seema
Seema posted some lovely things within this category this year. Her humor piece, "And Baby Makes Five" was hysterical, and "All Queued Up" and "Forbidden Love" pretty funny. "Defining Boundaries" did a lovely job of showing the chemistry between Janeway and Chakotay. But the stories by Seema that I loved the most this year in VoY, that took me to the heights and were powerful reads even moving me to tears, are the stories in the "Glory Days" Universe she shares with Rocky. The series starts out nostalgic and bittersweet. Of those group of stories, along with Rocky's first story that sparked it off, my favorite is Seema's "Latitude" with Chakotay and Paris. It was beautifully written I thought and did justice to both characters. That arc ended with "The Sweetest Days" and in the next story, "Act of War" the intensity racquets way up and it’s hard to think of a story posted this year that was more suspenseful. "Empty Sky," co-written with Rocky, did a great job of evoking the memories of 9/11 and Seema's next story in the series "Rocketman" is absolutely devastating and moved me to tears.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 09:04:16 -0500

45the stylus
I loved "Pot Kettle Black," a fascinating first person character study of Janeway's mother, Gretchen. The story features a powerful description of the Voyager crew being beamed down to their homecoming. Her reflections on her daughter as they are reunited are poignant and ring true to life.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 09:06:21 -0500

50Ventura33
I enjoyed Ventura's two contributions to Voyfic this year, "Double Kat" and "Imprinted." The first presented a fascinating portrait of the two Janeways and "Imprinted" is another one of Ventura's extraordinary Borg stories. Both are well-written and very enjoyable tales.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 09:07:35 -0500

53Yvonne Harrison (Fanfic Chick)
I thought Fanfic Chicks' AU novella "Return to Sender" was one of the strongest Voy stories posted to ASC this year. It's a wonderful exploration of the relationship between Tom Paris and his father Owen. There are interesting portrayals here of Harry and B'Elanna as well and their relationship to Tom. Besides handling the canon characters well, the author also creates an interesting and well-drawn original character in the counselor, Loril Tyor, one that doesn't take over the story, but provides a needed outside perspective.
-- Rabble Rouser - Thu, 27 Mar 2003 09:09:53 -0500

7Boadicea
Co-author of the mesmerizing Going Away, Boadicea ave us a beautiful, sexy, and touching story about a trio I would never in a million years have imagined. Well done!
-- Djinn - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 22:59:01 -0500

11Christinecgb
I hope that Christinecgb keeps writing trekfic. Hers is a unique and lovely voice. The Albatross was a bitter and lovely Janeway/Chakotay piece that tantalized as much as it satisfied!
-- Djinn - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 22:59:19 -0500

26Kelly
Kelly Chambliss specializes in the unique, the edgy, the slightly off center. Her Voyager offerings this year are particularly strong. With Boadicea she gave us the hypnotically sensual Going Away. On her own, she delivered the cutting Starlight, the absolutely delightful Swing Time, and the wonderfully clever and original Chakotay and It. Kelly never takes the easy way out with a fic. Whether exploring the road not taken, or showing the rehearsal for a talent show, she builds strong narratives, amazing dialogue, and perfect characterizations and ends up with a final product that never fails to delight!
-- Djinn - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 22:59:36 -0500

29monkee
Monkee is an author of many and varied talents. She gives us fun sillines with some bite underneath it in her humorous stories Peacock Blue and Advice from Someone Who's Been There. And in The Man in 119 she gives us a lovely and lovingly crafted EMH story as told by an engaging OC. Can't wait to see what Monkee has in store for us next year!
-- Djinn - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 22:59:58 -0500

30nostalgia
A wonderful new voice in Voyager. I look forward to this author's works in the future!
-- Djinn - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:00:15 -0500

38RoseKira (Ananke)
This author manages to take what you think you know and turn it slightly to very off kilter, making you examine things in a whole new way. Her stories were edgy and dark and I like that. They showed the characters in very interesting new lights!
-- Djinn - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:00:34 -0500

34Penny Proctor
It's always a pleasure to read a Penny Proctor story, my only complaint for this year is that there weren't enough of them! Oasis made me yearn for more of Penny's J/C!
-- Djinn - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:00:47 -0500

45the stylus
Pot Kettle Black was an outstanding story that touched me and made me rethink what I knew of Janeway. I hope to see more from this author this year.
-- Djinn - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:01:03 -0500

53Yvonne Harrison (Fanfic Chick)
Return to Sender was an ambitious work that made me think, made me cringe, and ultimately made me stand up and cheer for this author. Lovely work, amazing talent!
-- Djinn - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:01:18 -0500

50Ventura33
Imprinted was a completely beautiful story that blended humor and some quite serious themes in the way that only Ventura33 can do! Double Kat gave us a hot and sad look at Janeway's unwillingness to let anyone in...including herself. Lovely work by Ventura33!
-- Djinn - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:01:31 -0500

24Jemima
Wow, was this a fantastic year for Jemima's Voyager fic or what? It is hard to know where to start, although it is easy to know what to say--just really good things! I think I'll start with The Lamn'rau, a lovely story that was haunting and wonderfully sad--the perfect backstory for Seven-of-Nine and the doomed Hansen exploration to find the Borg. This is a story that will stay with me for a long, long time. Then there are her wonderful J/C entries, the lovely recap that is Honey-Dew and the extremely touching Thrive. She filked the heck out of the series, gave us laugh out loud fun in Than Fade Away, The Efficiency Expert, and Beta Energy. And she capped it off with the dark and most poignant EMH POV'd coda What's Left of Her, a sad AU look at what might have happened but fortunately didn't. The range of these stories is extraordinary, all of them are creative and fun to read, with prose and dialogue that captures and holds the reader. Well done, Jemima. Congratulations on a fantastic year!
-- Djinn - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:01:59 -0500

39Rocky
Rocky has had such a strong year in Voyager! I'd be remiss if I didn't start with the Glory Days series. I love these stories, for the outstanding characterizations but even more for Rocky and her partner Seema's unstinting willingness to take a look at the harder places in life, the rougher moments, the sadder aspects of love and friendship, and the tough glimpses of death, grief, anger and finally forgiveness. Outstanding work, Rocky! Somehow Rocky found time to participate in Voyager 7.5 as well as write stand alone stories such as the raucous and sexy Rank Has Its Privileges, the touching Quit and the more hopeful Night Visitor and Easy. Well done, Rocky!
-- Djinn - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:02:27 -0500

43Seema
Seema had another wonderful year. She was co-conspirator with Rocky in the wonderful Glory Days series, and gave us the series toughest moments in Act of War as well as very poignant, sweet, and touching moments in the other excellent stories she penned for this series. Her Janeway/Chakotay story And Baby Makes Five is one of the funniest Janeway has Chakotay's baby stories I have ever read! There are several things in that I won't forget such as Janeway and knitting needles, or Harry Kim's behavior . Seema also gave us the lovely Defining Boundaries and the silly Forbidden Love, showing again that she can run the gamut from funny and light to gut-wrenching drama that leaves you sobbing. Literally. Seema, you are one hell of a writer and I can't wait to see what you come up with for this year!
-- Djinn - Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:02:58 -0500

3Annie M
I really liked Annie's Miral Torres story and wish we could have seen more from her this year.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:15:26 -0500

10Christina
Christina's brainchild VVS7.5 had a lot of good stories this year, especially ones that she herself was involved in writing. I am continually impressed by her never-ending fountain of creativity and her feel for political intrigue as well as off-beat humor.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:16:09 -0500

14Cybermum
Cybermum had some very important contributions to VVS7.5 this year, being one of the main driving forces behind some of the most involved and complex stories. In particular I appreciated her moving and witty portrayal of Harry's mother, and her skillful 'shepherding' of the Prixin story.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:17:29 -0500

18Djinn
Djinn is one of the most talented writers on the newsgroup. I really enjoyed her VOY contributions this year. Whether she was writing J/C or C/7 oriented stories, she did them with equal ease, grace and beauty.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:18:33 -0500

19Dr. Jekyl
Dr. Jekyl is one of the best EMH writers active in the fandom and I very much enjoyed her contributions this year.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:19:17 -0500

22Janet (Jamelia)
I feel privileged that I was able to work closely with Jam this year on VVS7.5 and see first-hand how incredibly talented she is, how creative, and how well she is able to seamlessly weave complex concepts and gripping story-telling together.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:20:01 -0500

24Jemima
Jemima has no equal when it comes to filk and her talent extends to prose as well. Her humorous stories are witty and often biting, her serious ones powerfully moving. What else could anyone ask for? She also has a real knack for the Borg. I truly believe that no one captures Seven's voice as well as she does.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:20:39 -0500

25Julie Evans (Julie)
Julie is an impressive writer. Her contributions to VVS7.5 this year have been incredible, whether they're entire complex stories such as "Hero For The Times" or 'novella-like' segments in larger group stories such as the Tom Paris arc in "Reconstruction Blues." She is equally adept at laugh out loud humor as she is at evoking deep emotional responses.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:21:33 -0500

26Kelly
Kelly writes beautiful, lyrical stories. Reading one is like appraising a finely cut jewel, enjoying the sharp clean lines and highly polished surfaces which at the same time reflect as well as invite delving much deeper and discovering facets beyond what was immediately apparent. I love the way she evokes so much with so little, and her portrayal of Janeway is always compelling.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:22:33 -0500

29monkee
Monkee is possibly the best VOY writer around. I absolutely love her way with humor, with pathos, with characterization. Nobody makes me smile--and sometimes smile through tears--like she does. Keep writing more, Monkee!
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:23:21 -0500

30nostalgia
Nostalgia's "Stockhold Syndrome" is one of the most compelling and haunting stories of the year.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:23:53 -0500

33P. L. Heyes (DangerMom)
I was a late convert to P/T, but DangerMom is definitely one of the reasons! I really enjoy her portrayal of Tom and B'Elanna and wish we could have seen more of her stories this year.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:24:35 -0500

34Penny Proctor
Penny is a superb writer and it goes without saying how much I've enjoyed her stories. My only complaint is that there have been so few this year. But even though the quantity is down, the quality is as strong as ever. "Oasis" is my favorite J/C story of the year, and definitely in the running for all-time.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:25:20 -0500

43Seema
Seema's writing talent leaves me breathless. I honestly don't think there is anything she can't write, and write well. Humor? "And Baby Makes Five" wickedly skewers every pregnancy cliche in the book (with very sharp needles). J/C? "Defining Boundaries" is sweet without turning saccharine and contains a number of home truths. P/T? Look no further than "The Sweetest Days" for a beautiful portrayal of that couple's evolving relationship. C/7? Seema is one of the few writers who can make me believe in this pairing. How good is she? Seema's ability runs the gamut from compelling action/adventure which leaves the reader on the edge of hir seat to giving us wonderful 'true to form' characterization of everyone in VOY. She is a master at evoking pathos but without ever going over the top. I am incredibly blessed to have collaborated with her this year on the Glory Days series. Without her, there wouldn't have even been a series; it would have remained a single story. When Seema asked 'to play in my sandbox' I knew she'd come up with something good, but I had no idea just what was in store. "Do The Walls Come Down" opened my eyes to the possibilities, and the rest is history. She is so creative, and came up with so many fantastic ideas for the series. It was a real treat to watch her turn inspiration into reality. I'm looking forward to a lot more Seema-fic in the coming year.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:26:30 -0500

53Yvonne Harrison (Fanfic Chick)
Yvonne's novel "Return To Sender" was an amazing tour de force. Not many writers would be able to pull off such a complex structure. It also contains one of the best portraits of Owen Paris that I've ever seen.
-- Rocky - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 06:27:11 -0500

11Christinecgb
Christine writes the sort of edgy, angsty VOY fic that appeals to me most. I'm impressed by her insight into characters and by the power of her style. My favorite story of hers this year, "The Albatross," combines effective metaphor with perceptive storytelling. In the post-VOY universe, it's not easy to write believabe J/C any more, but Christine succeeds beautifully. If this story is, in fact, her final J/C or her final VOY, I'm very, very sorry.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 12:25:41 -0500

18Djinn
Ever since I was blown away by Djinn's ASC-award-winning J/C story "Barriers," I've been quite a fan of hers. Although I haven't had time to read all her non-Voyager stories, those I have read are excellent. As for her Voyager fiction, it's always a treat. This year, I enjoyed the powerfully-atmospheric "Day of the Dead" and "Morning Light." When I think of the challenge of writing a compelling, sexy, believable J/C "morning after" story at *this* point in canon, I don't believe I could rise to the occasion. Djinn, though, does a great job. But my vote for "favorite Djinn story of the year" has to go to the wonderfully-written "Alone." With poetic prose and sharp insight, Djinn delivers a Seven who is moving and completely believable. A triumph.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 12:33:53 -0500

23janezy
Even though I don't always agree with janezy's portrayal of Janeway, I always enjoy and admire her writing. She recognizes the complexity of Janeway's character and never cheats her readers with trite or simplistic presentations. This year, she gave us the thought-provoking imagery of "Hollow" and the amazing power of "Saving Strangers," one of my favorite stories of the year. In particular, I admire her presentation of the sexual relationship between Chakotay and Admiral Janeway. Our culture still has trouble with the idea of an older woman with a younger man, or even with the whole idea of elderly people wanting sex, but janezy's depiction of the pair is never condescending or exploitive. And she does a fantastic job of creating two different-yet-the-same characters in Captain and Admiral Janeway. It's quite an achievement.

24Jemima
Before I read Jemima, I never cared much for filks. They always seemed forced, and people never seemed to be able to make them scan. But Jemima has given me a full appreciation of the genre. Her "Janeway: The Musical" is nothing less than a classic. "The Sounds of Sickbay," though necessarily shorter, is also inspired. Yet Jemima doesn't limit herself to filks: she writes excellent humor and drama as well, each with solid insights into character.

29monkee
If I had to choose just one reason that monkee is one of my favorite fanfic writers -- well, I couldn't. But one of the elements that strikes me most forcibly about her many strengths is her versatility. Here is a writer equally comfortable in all the Trek series, whose humor is actually funny and whose drama is moving; who can write explicit sex as wonderfully as she writes G-rated action; who is often romantic but rarely mushy; and who has unerring insight into each character's psyche and voice. Janeway/Paris friendship? Few do it better than monkee. Moving, believable J/C? She's done it and still can. Hilariously "gratuitous Chakotay-bashing?" She's the best. Some of the hottest Janeway/Kashyk every written? Check out "Woman in Black." This year, monkee continued to show her range with such stories as "Peacock Blue," which had me laughing out loud, and with her understated, touching Joe Carey story, "The Last Nascelle." She even managed to create an atmospheric EMH/Seven. monkee has been writing Trekfic now since 1997, and she shows no signs of losing her amazing touch.

30nostalgia
nostalgia is one of my favorite new voices of the year. Her "Stockholm Syndrome" alone makes her worthy of notice, with its precise, Seven-like diction and its chilling logic.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 13:13:24 -0500

31not jenny
As far as I can tell, not jenny gave us only one story this year, the beautifully-executed "all this is window-dressing." But so well done is this story that it moves not jenny to my list of favorite authors. Her spare, second-person prose captures a complex, layered Janeway.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 13:17:57 -0500

34Penny Proctor
Penny has been one of my favorite writers ever since she posted the superb "Revisionist History." Penny's characters remain true to their canon selves, yet with depths and shadings that Penny renders with consummate skill. In a story such as "Oasis," for instance, she captures the tenderness and tension that made J/C such an enticing possibility in the early seasons of the series. "Earthrise" is equally beautiful. But if I had to choose my favorite type of story from Penny, it would be her wonderfully complex, nuanced presentations of legal maneuverings and institutional politics. That's why "In the Course of Justice" is my favorite Penny story from this year. In this piece and others, she presents a Janeway we can admire and yet still see as fully human.

39Rocky
Any assessment of Rocky's contributions to fanfic this year must begin with the epic, penetrating "Glory Days" series, with its many perceptive, striking conversations between characters. Each one is more revealing than the last. Every time I finished an episode, I'd think to myself, "well, she'll never top the insights of *this* particular conversation." Yet in some ways, she always did. I'm hard-pressed to name a favorite, although I'm always drawn to Rocky's presentations of the Janeway/Tuvok friendship, as in "Stand By Me." And then there's "Fire and Rain," a fascinating, pitch-perfect rendering of the unexpected yet meaningful relationship between Torres and Tuvok. For most writers, the achievements of the "Glory Days" series would have exhausted their creativity. But Rocky also contributed powerful segments to the "Virtual Season" series and some fine stand-alone stories. I particularly like "An Elegant Solution," with its careful portrayal of Admiral Nechayev and its thoughtful, detailed depiction of Star Fleet politics at the highest level. Rocky is simply a top-notch writer.

43Seema
In both depth and range, Seema stands with the best Trek writers in any series. Among her most impressive contributions this year are her installments in the "Glory Days" series, surely one of the best examples of sustained, excellent storytelling in all of Trek fandom. In the compelling "Act of War," she combines interesting action with psychological insight. My favorite Seema entry in "Glory Days"? For a Janeway-fanatic like me, normally a fine Janeway/Paris friendship story such as "Do the Walls Come Down?" would win my vote hands-down. But I think I have to go with "Latitude," in which Seema gives us the sort of conversation between Chakotay and Paris that their fraught, difficult relationship always deserved but that the canon writers never had the perception to present. As fine as her "Glory Days" stories are, though, I think I like her Janeway/Picard stories even better. Not only does she successfully tackle a difficult pairing, but her understated style shapes both characters sharply and effectively.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 14:19:46 -0500

44Teanna
I wish Teanna would write more VOY stories, especially ones as effective as her Janeway/Seven, "tom collins never had one in this bar." It's difficult to write a story about drunkenness in which the style depicts both the state and the character, but Teanna does an excellent job of it.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 14:21:53 -0500

45the stylus
the stylus's Janeway is one of the fanfic creations I treasure most. She's edgy, dark, sexy, powerful, vulnerable, compassionate, desirable, and complicated. I first came across the stylus when s/he posted "Negotiations," one of the best portrayals I've ever read of Janeway's complex allure and the darker aspects of Chakotay's desire. All hir stories have been equally powerful. This year, "Pot Kettle Black" continued hir winning streak of layered, honest, beautifully-crafted VOY fic. the stylus's writing is just like hir name -- pointed, sharp, precise, and strong.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 14:28:34 -0500

48Tracy Thurman
Tracy hasn't posted much this year, but I always enjoy her well-written, illuminating stories, especially when they feature Janeway.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 14:29:35 -0500

50Ventura33
"Black Widow Borg," read the subject line on ASC. The writer was new to me, but story featured Janeway, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Such was my introduction to the seductive, funny, thoughtful fanfic of Ventura33. I've looked forward to reading her ever since. I particularly like her f/f stories, although she does equal justice to Borg babies. My favorite Ventura33 will probably always be the wonderful "The Nature of Reality," but the reality about Ventura is that she never disappoints.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 14:35:05 -0500

51VS 7.5 Writing staff
I regret that I haven't been able to read all the VS 7.5 entries, because the ones I *have* read have been marvelous. All the writers deserve praise not only for creating and completing such an ambitious project, but for doing it with such stylistic flair and storytelling panache. It's the Voyager I wish I could have watched on TV.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 14:37:06 -0500

53Yvonne Harrison (Fanfic Chick)
Yvonne will probably never top her hilarious satire from several years back, "The Ultimate Mary Sue." But this year, she treated us to an equally effective serious story, "Return to Sender." Her Tom Paris is a great character.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 14:38:41 -0500

47T'Lin
As the moderator of the wonderful "Femme Fuh-Q-Fest," T'lin makes substantial contributions to fanfic and to the promotion of f/f slash. And if that weren't enough, she writes good stories, too.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 14:44:17 -0500

38RoseKira (Ananke)
I can always count on RoseKira for affecting, interesting stories that make me look at the characters in new ways.
-- Kelly Chambliss - Tue, 01 Apr 2003 14:45:11 -0500

9Cait N.
I enjoyed Cait's stories this year and hope she continues to write.
-- Penny Proctor - Wed, 02 Apr 2003 07:19:21 -0500

10Christina
Christina has an ability to take teeny little snippets of an idea and turn them into long, satisfying stories. Her imaginationis seemingly boundless, and she has a knack for converting the mundane into the unexpected. "Into the Night" features mostly lower deck characters doing something we didn't see on Voyager - producing Shakespeare, at a maze of a space station, for aliens who don't quite grasp the concept of fiction. She has a special feel for the lower decks denizens and fleshes them out beautifully - particularly the Delaney sisters. Political intrigue is another of her strengths, as evidenced by "Rendezvous" and "Retribution." She loves to spin tales of tangles webs and hidden agendas, always witha dollop of humor. And speaking of humor, the "Blooper Reel" and the "Risian Ribald" were both her creations. Christina deserves the respect of readers and writers alike.
-- Penny Proctor - Wed, 02 Apr 2003 07:24:06 -0500

11Christinecgb
Christine is a craftsman. Her stories always have one or two lines that are so beautifully constructed they linger in memory. I hope she's done completely finished with Voyager.
-- Penny Proctor e - Wed, 02 Apr 2003 07:25:30 -0500

14Cybermum
Cybermum didn't give us a poem this year, but she contributed several entries to the Voyager category through the 7.5 project. Her gentle humor and appreciation of familial relationships shows up time and again. I particularly liked her version of the Voyager Olympics in "Olympian Efforts" (she wrote the shipboard scenes) and her differing takes on Voyager's mothers in the characters of Gretchen Janeway and Mary Kim in "In the Arms of Family." A Cybermum story has a light touch and a big heart.
-- Penny Proctor - Wed, 02 Apr 2003 07:28:50 -0500

18Djinn
Djinn's heart may be with Christine Chapel, but when her muse turns to Voyager, I can't wait to see the results. I think her "Morning Light" is one of my favorite stories in any category this year. Besides warming my J/C heart, it so perfectly captures the characters. "Day of the Dead" was notable for its rich detail and deep emotional tug. And "Alone" is so well written that I almost forgot how much I dislike C/7. Djinn is one of the most skilled writers in Trek, and I hope her muse brings her back to Voyager more often.
-- Penny Proctor - Wed, 02 Apr 2003 07:32:58 -0500

22Janet (Jamelia)
Janet's deep understanding of the heart and the things that motivate people shines through in everything she writes. Whether it's someone as familiar as Tom Paris or as alien as a matriarch of a newly discovered species, she gives them richness and depth. I think "Ripples in Time" and "In the Arms of Family" (to which she was a major contributor) really stand out for her this year. It's always a pleasure to read one of Janet's stories.
-- Penny Proctor - Wed, 02 Apr 2003 07:37:51 -0500

29monkee
monkee does it all - humor, pathos, romance. I marvel at her versatility and her skill. "The Man in Room 119" was, in my view, her stand-out story this year, a lovely look at the EMH and the endurance of love. She's one of the very best.
-- Penny Proctor - Wed, 02 Apr 2003 07:39:59 -0500

26Kelly
Kelly is another writer who is a craftsman; her words are always chosen perfectly, and her ideas are always different and fascinating. When I first saw the title, "Chakotay and It" I couldn't imagine what she was up to, but the story surprised and the ending delighted me. I always look forward to a Kelly story.
-- Penny Proctor - Wed, 02 Apr 2003 07:42:34 -0500

25Julie Evans (Julie)
I just discovered Julie's talent about 2 years ago, and can't say enough good things about her. This year she just blew me away with "A Hero for the Times," one of the most imaginative first contact stories I've come across. Her portrayal of the EMH, with his ego and insecurities, ambition and fear, compassion and disdain, is exactly right. Her aliens are unique and fascinating, and the dollops of humor add spice. She's one of the best.

39Rocky
Rocky has been a writer to be reckoned with since she first began posting, but this year stands our as superb for her. If she had written nothing but the "Glory Days" seris, she would stand head and shoulders above most others. "Glory Days" is a remarkable achievement, in part because the individual stories, fine as they are, add up to something more in their entirety. The characterizations are excellent, but even more impressive are the credible story lines. I know of no other writers who have presented a post-Endgame scenario as realistic and believable as this. There are no quick fixes or easy outs, and the happy endigns are tinged with past sorrows and future fears. But Rocky was amazingly prolific this year. Her contributions to the 7.5 project go beyound her author credits, providing a sense of grounding and in some cases, direction. I'm particularly fond of her "Ripples in Time" (co-written with Janet) and "Rendezvous" (co-written with Christina), both of which incorporate new characters, complex plots and a dash of humor. As if that weren't enough for one person, Rocky also gave us such fine stories as "An Elegant Solution," "Perfection is as Perfection Does," and "Night Visitor." But it's not just quantity - it's quality that counts, and Rocky is a consistently excellent writer. This year, she led the way for the rest of the Voyager writers.
-- Penny Proctor - Wed, 02 Apr 2003 07:53:25 -0500

43Seema
What is left to say about Seema? I'm running out of superlatives, but she is one of the most gifted writers in this or any other fandom. Her stories are sensitive, riveting and above all, true. Her "Glory Days" stories with Rocky comprise the best post-endgame series around. As good as they all are, "Act of War" stands out vividly. I still remember the reaction it evoked the first time I read it - the end literally made me gasp, and up to that point, I was drawn into the combat as vividly as if I were there myself. And Seema's version of P/T is sure, touching and utterly believable. Any story by Seema is a treat, and I just wish I had the time to read them all. I'm sure the ones I missed were every bit as excellent.
-- Penny Proctor - Wed, 02 Apr 2003 07:57:06 -0500

50Ventura33
Meg is skilled writer, with a true gift for the Borg and for quirky stories and a great sense of humor. I loved "Imprinted" this year.
-- Penny Proctor - Wed, 02 Apr 2003 07:58:36 -0500

48Tracy Thurman
Tracy is a fun writer to read, and I hope she hasn't abandoned Voyager. She's got a nice sense of character.

24Jemima
The Filk of Jemima PIs surely the best there beEach word is perfectly matched whatever the scoreLet her write more! I wanna read more! She writes such good stuff, I wanna read more. Her C/7 stories are fine, Her J/C is devine, Sometimes I laugh until my sides are sore. Let her write more!I wanna read more! It's all so clever, I wanna read more. Of the many writers in VOYJemima is a joyHer wit and her talent raise her up to the foreLet her writeI wanna read more! She writes such good stuff, I wanna read more. The preceding was a humble homage to a writer I greatly admire. Jemima has great scope, writing serious fic, funny fic, meta-fic and wonderful filk. And no one understands Seven of Nine the way she does. She is one of the must-reads in Voyager, this year and any other.

-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 00:13:19 -0500

4Barbara Watson
Barbara Watson is one of my favorite authors and one of the best 'interpretors' of P/T out there. I love "Connect the Dots" and I really hope we get more this year. Her fics are truly a treat.

-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 00:17:07 -0500

11Christinecgb
ChristineCGB has always been among my favorite Voyager writers. She has such a unique style when she writes and her dialogue is sharp and crisp. She always illuminates the characters in the most subtle manner possible. I really hope "The Albatross" isn't the last we see of Christine, because her fic is really excellent.
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 00:19:45 -0500

14Cybermum
Cybermum has delighted in the past with her clever poems, but she's also capable of writing meaty, in-depth character-driven and adventure stories, as evidenced by her VS7.5 fic. Thanks for another year of great fic.
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 00:21:52 -0500

16Deede
Deede has a lovely and fluid writing style. Would love to see more from her.

18Djinn
Djinn is an extraodinary writer and she comes up with something new and innovative everytime she produces a new story. Few authors can push boundaries and succeed the way Djinn does. "Alone" is probably my favorite of Djinn's VOY fics this year, for its sympathetic portrayal of Seven, but "Day of the Dead" ranks among my favorite J/C stories ever. Here's to another great year, Djinn!
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 00:25:30 -0500

22Janet (Jamelia)
Janet has a wonderful talent for drawing out characters and making them three-dimensionals. I really enjoyed her stories in VS7.5 this year. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 00:26:33 -0500

23janezy
It was such a pleasure to discover janezy's stories this year. She really has a wonderful touch when it comes to Janeway and Chakotay. Her characterizations are really well done and her stories always interesting and thought-provoking.
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 00:34:20 -0500

24Jemima
Jemima kept saying she didn't write anything this year, and what she didn't do in quantity, she certainly made up in quality. I'm amazed, completely blown away, by what Jemima has done this year. Her filk always scans but "Janeway! The Musical" was an outstanding achievement. In addition to sharing her filk talent with us, Jemima gave us some very lovely stories. From the poignant story of Seven's childhood aboard the Raven to the hilarious "Beta Energy" and the subtle despair of "What's Left of Her," Jemima delivered big time.
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 00:40:27 -0500

25Julie Evans (Julie)
Julie has always been one of my favorite authors. She does so well weaving complex storylines and bringing the characters to life skillfully. I loved "A Hero for the Times" and her other contributions to VS7.5 this year.
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 00:43:15 -0500

26Kelly
Kelly is one of those writers who constantly amazes me with her style and her insight into Janeway especially. I thought "Going Away", her collaboration with Boadecia, was amazing. But my favorite fic this year from Kelly would have to be the amusing "Swing Time." Kelly really writes wonderful J/P and I sincerely hope for more. There can never be too much Kelly!fic.
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 00:47:44 -0500

29monkee
monkee is one of the best writers around and her VOY fics this year show exactly why she's earned that reputation. "The Man in 119" and "The Last Nacelle" are both lovely character sketches, subtle and heart-warming at the same time.
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 00:49:13 -0500

not jenny's "all this is window dressing" was one of those fics that really gets the reader in the gut. I liked how she completely subverted the reality I'd imagined for the VOY crew.
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 00:52:11 -0500

32Paula Stiles
Paula does so much with a drabble. Her Janeway/Kashyk foray, "It Must Have Slipped My Mind" is so very satisfying. Nice job and hope to see more.
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 00:57:53 -0500

33P. L. Heyes (DangerMom)
DangerMom is one of the finest P/T writers out there and her "One for the Family Scrapbook" is a fine addition to the post-Endgame oeuvre.

34Penny Proctor
Penny always delights with her VOY fics. She has a deft handling of all of the characters, but especially Janeway and Chakotay. "Earthrise" was probably my favorite of Penny's fics this year, but she ably handled the wonderfully detailed and complex "In the Course of Justice," juggling politics and plot elements beautifully. Penny's fics are always a pleasure.

38RoseKira (Ananke)
RoseKira always has a unique - if dark and angsty - perspective on the characters. She manages to tilt the VOY universe around but in a way that makes sense.
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 01:07:38 -0500

39Rocky
Where do I start with Rocky? I owe her so much, especially for her kindness in allowing me to play in her "Glory Days" sandbox and for her patience in putting up with my constant nagging. Rocky has a genuine love for VOY and the characters. She succeeds beautifully in keeping them true to themselves. In addition, this year, Rocky demonstrated her versatility in VOY. From the humor of "Rank Has Its Privileges" to the tension in "So Many Things," Rocky wrote a wide spectrum of emotion. My favorite of her stories this year would be "Glory Days," for its lovely Tom and Harry interaction and all of the possibilities. Thank you for a wonderful year, Rocky.
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 01:11:20 -0500

44Teanna
Teanna's "tom collins never had one in this bar" was a lovely and lyrical fic. I hope Teanna writes more VOY fic in the future.
-- Seema - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 01:14:22 -0500

45the stylus
I loved "Pot Kettle Black." It ranks among my favorite VOY stories this year because of its portrayal, the originality of ideas. In addition, I love the stylus' command of style and language. Ze does a fine job of 'showing, not telling.'

52Whoa Nellie
Yvonne is one of the best VOY authors out there and while she's mostly known for her humor, she does drama and angst equally well. "Return to Sender" is yet another example of Yvonne's wicked undercurrent of humor tempered with a hearty dose of cold reality. Yvonne has talked about retiring from fanfic but I hope that's not the case because it will truly be our loss.

11Christinecgb
Christine said goodbye to J/C with the best J/C of the year, if not the best VOY story of the year. I wish it weren't a goodbye to VOY, too, but I have the feeling it is.
-- Jemima - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 01:33:54 -0500

18Djinn
Now that Djinn has turned her attention to our little lost ship, I suspect Voyager will never be the same. I adored the Seven of "Alone" - it's wonderful to have another Borg sympathizer writing VOY, especially someone with such a mastery of plot and language. Her new perspective stands out in J/C, a subgenre that has been worked over for years by the best writers of VOY - Djinn managed to give us two new angles on the Eternal Pairing. Thanks again!
-- Jemima - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 01:34:38 -0500

I enjoyed Rob's take on Voyager, both in "Boiled in Their Own Pudding" and his lovely filk "Academy Drop-Out." He has an insight into the characters that is often overlooked by underappreciators of crossovers and filk. *All we are saying, is give Rob a chance...*

39Rocky
Rocky has a respect for the characters that is all too rare in fanfic, but she's still able to take them out for some rollicking humorous fun - parodies like "Perfection Is As Perfection Does" are my favorites. I can't believe how much she's written this year, when so many of us are sliding down that slippery slope into retirement. I didn't get a chance to read her VS7.5 fics, but the rest of her stories kept me busy in almost every category of VOY. In the Glory Day series, she takes the crew's somewhat prosaic post-Voyager lives and turns them into an engrossing tale full of the beautifully-phrased nuggets of character insight I've come to expect from her fic.

38RoseKira (Ananke)
RoseKira has a unique style, and she's willing to take up the challenge of neglected (and abhorred) pairings. Sometimes she requires a second read, but it's worth it.

43Seema
Seema is prolific on her own and when combined with Rocky for "Glory Days," a true menance to my free time. She wears her love for Tom and B'Elanna on her sleeve, and consistently gives depth to their characters and relationship. You can also find Seema writing a marvellous C/7 and even the J/C she claims not to care for. In "The Heart of the Matter," she gets Chakotay's cluelessness and Seven's self-doubt down pat without ever being too obvious about it. When she parodies J/C in "And Baby Makes Five" and "Forbidden Love," she doesn't pull any punches. She does action in "Act of War," and her sense of dramatic timing is excellent. Seema is everywhere!

44Teanna
What was that masked fic? I'm glad Teanna brought us "tom collins" this year. I'm hoping for more in the future.

50Ventura33
Ventura33 contributed some impressive humor pieces to Voyager this year. I love her over-the-top approach.
-- Jemima - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 01:39:16 -0500

23janezy
Janezy was a surprise in a field full of us hoary old Trek dinosaurs. Her stories ranged from humor to angst and featured some lovely language and creative ideas. I hope to see more from her.
-- Jemima - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 01:39:48 -0500

29monkee
Monkee can always make me laugh. Her humorous stories this year were no exception. Her more serious talents were visible in her unique approach to "The Man in 119." I wish I could stomach Enterprise to follow her there.

30nostalgia
I'd like to thank nostalgia again for reuniting Seven with the Borg. I hope she succumbs to more Seven inspiration in the future.
-- Jemima - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 01:40:32 -0500

31not jenny
I admire anyone who tries second person POV, as not jenny did in "all this is window dressing." I hope she writes more VOY in the future.

39Rocky
This goes for both Rocky and Seema: The Glory Days-universe is one of the absolute best (if not THE best) post Endgame series I've read, and you ROCK. :)

43Seema
This goes for both Rocky and Seema: The Glory Days-universe is one of the absolute best (if not THE best) post Endgame series I've read, and you ROCK. :)

25Julie Evans (Julie)
Your stories blow me away every time. So detailed, random, and *subtle* that they always move me deeply. I'm a long time fan! :) Lovely.
-- Elise - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 05:22:39 -0500

24Jemima
I had a good time reading jemima's filks this year. She has a good ear for scansion and rhyme, and "Where Is the Fic" was especially funny. I hope to see more from her next year.
-- Paula Stiles - Fri, 04 Apr 2003 22:50:23 -0500

30nostalgia
nostalgia has a good eye for dark, and that was front and centre in her Seven entry. She eschews the canon attempts to make Seven a bit cuddly, or even sexually approachable, for something much closer to what would have been the bleak reality.

39Rocky
I'm not going to vote for a lot of people for Voyager author. Only one, in fact, although there have been many deserving authors producing stories in 2002. But Rocky has had an incredible year, coming out with story after startlingly good story, stand-alones as well as those written with Seema in the "Glory Days" universe and with the Voyager Virtual Season 7.5 team. Thanks to the latter, I've had the privilege of collaborating with her on several stories. I'm in awe of Rocky's writing skills, the depth of characterization in her stories, the way she's able to take complicated scientific principles and turn them into convincing technobabble, well, faster than the speed of light! Rocky has been the most consistently good writer in all of Trek fanfic this year, but her accomplishments in writing Voyager fiction have been especially noteworthy and deserve all the recognition she may get.

4Barbara Watson
Barb is a fine P/T author. I very much enjoy her writing, and in particular her "Letters to Neelix" will go down as one of my all time favorite P/T stories.
-- Julie - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 01:24:34 -0500

10Christina
Christina's energy, imagination, endless story ideas, and ability to inspire and motivate is the main reason VS 7.5 has been so successful. Along with her solid writing skills, her enthusiasm and love for the characters always shines through in her stories.
-- Julie - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 01:28:04 -0500

14Cybermum
I love the combination of humor and warmth in Cybermum's writing. She's also terrific at shaping a collection of vignettes into a coherent and naturally flowing story, as she's done so ably with the Prixin and other VS 7.5 episodes.
-- Julie - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 01:37:36 -0500

22Janet (Jamelia)
Janet is and always will be one of my favorite authors, first with her wonderful P/T stories, and now with her contributions to VS 7.5. I particularly admire her ability to ground her stories so solidly in science, and yet always keep the characters the main focus. I also love the warmth and genuine affection that is always apparent between the characters in Janet's skillful hands.
-- Julie - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 01:59:35 -0500

29monkee
Need I say that monkee is one of the great Voyager writers? It was wonderful to have her contributions to VS 7.5 this year, especially the poignant "The Last Nacelle" and her interpretation of Joe Carey.
-- Julie - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 02:05:39 -0500

34Penny Proctor
Penny's writing is amazing, and one of my favorite stories this year was "In the Course of Justice." She did a wonderful job with all the legal ramifications of Voyager's return--not letting everyone off the hook, but not indulging in overwrought pathos either. The various decisions were not arrived at easily, but they were satisfying and believable, and justice was indeed done. Penny once again outdid herself :-)
-- Julie - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 02:11:50 -0500

39Rocky
How can anyone possibly write so many stories, and do them all so well?? I'm simply amazed at how prolific Rocky is. VS 7.5, Glory Days, and various stand alone stories--adventure, drama, humor, politics--Rocky handles it all with equal skill. I particularly enjoy how well she writes not only the main characters, but secondary characters like Admiral Nechayev in "An Elegant Solution." No matter what Rocky writes, she never hits a wrong note, and her generous contributions to VS 7.5 have been one of the main reasons that series has been so successful.
-- Julie - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 02:29:32 -0500

43Seema
Seema has a wonderful ability to see deeply into the characters, bringing out edges and nuances that ring so true. Her characterizations of Tom and B'Elanna in particular are exquisite, and this year I've really enjoyed her contributions to the "Glory Days" series with Rocky. Terrific work.
-- Julie - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 02:33:36 -0500

26Kelly
Kelly writes the most delicious Janeway stories. Whether Janeway's paired with Tom or Chakotay or someone else, Kelly does a wonderful job of characterization.
-- Cait N. - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 22:55:58 -0500

18Djinn
Djinn writes wonderful Voyager stories. "Day of the Dead" was my favorite one by her this past year, and I can't wait to see what she writes the rest of this year!
-- Cait N. - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 23:01:47 -0500

23janezy
janezy writes long, involved, plot-driven stories that draw me in and make me want to be a part of her world, if even for a little while.
-- Cait N. - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 23:02:36 -0500

34Penny Proctor
Penny has written my favorite Janeway/Chakotay story ("A Little Diversion") and I've been following her writing ever since. I find a professional, crisp quality to her work and I look forward to reading more of her stories.
-- Cait N. - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 23:04:47 -0500

29monkee
monkee's stories are funny, sad, thought-provoking and sometimes just plain fun! I always enjoy her stories.
-- Cait N. - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 23:05:52 -0500

39Rocky
I love Rocky's "Glory Days" series. I'm always guaranteed of a well-written story when I see that it's by Rocky.
-- Cait N. - Sat, 05 Apr 2003 23:06:51 -0500

43Seema
I've been enjoying Seema's contributions to the "Glory Days" series (along with Rocky). Her writing displays great emotion and she makes it all seem so easy!
