#12 Privet Drive / Laugh Thrice Lodge – The Gallegher Family

Number Twelve predates the development of Privet Drive. While it has the number, it also has a name as it was one of the lodges from the Laughing Manor Estate. It has a floo connection under its old name.

Timothy Gallegher – Grumpy old man of Privet Drive. Somehow was convinced to help build a treehouse in his back yard for Colin Creevey, Violet Dursley, Porta Polkiss, and Bradley Dursley. Would prefer to ignore the children on the street for the most part, and care for his beloved DB4. Hufflepuff Class of ’48.

Adeline Gallegher nee Keighley – Assumed to be a saint. A Hufflepuff from the class of ’43, she often ends up fixing accidental magic on the street. Every mother on Privet Drive has her number memorized. She was prefect and head girl at Hogwarts, particularly known for her transfiguration ability. Keeps a keen eye on the duck pond Proud of the fact that she has a child in each house.

Boadicea Gallegher – born 1951 Gryffindor ’69, only daughter, lives nearby under another of the 5 Laughing Manor Lodges, under fidelis. Doesn’t come to visit often. Doesn’t believe that Voldermort has been defeated.

The Death Eaters

Professor Quirinus Quirrell – Technically not really a Death Eater, but the first to suffer from an encounter with the Dursley Family Love. Former Muggle Studies Professor and supposed to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor starting the Autumn 1991 Term. That was before he encountered the Dursley Family in the Leaky Caldron.

Lucius Malfoy – Inner Circle Death Eater. Father of Draco. Owns a good portion of Knockturn Alley. He may be lucky that he encountered the Dursley Family in succession, and was never surrounded. Still, that was his favorite robe.

Augustus Rookwood – Death Eater on work release from Azkaban for work with the Department of Mysteries. Unfortunately, he decided to try to get some revenge on the side, followed the Dursley Family Home. Well, it was a nice clear day until he saw that sign.

Severus Snape – Death Eater and spy for the Order of the Phoenix. Hogwarts Potion Master and Head of Slytherin. He finds it a pain to teach Harry Potter.

Peter Pettigrew – Death Eater and spy on the Order of the Phoenix. aka Wormtail or Scabbers. Pet of Ron Weasley. Living in the dorm with Harry Potter is a constant low grade pain. He thought that going back to the Burrow would be a relief. However, the Female of the Species is deadlier than the male, and there is a special fate reserved for betrayers.

Walden Macnair – Death Eater and executioner for the disposal of dangerous creatures.

Fenrir Greyback – Death Eater and werewolf

Igor Karkaroff – Death Eater and Headmaster of Drumstrang

Corbin Yaxley – Death Eater

Hogwarts Students

Draco Malfoy – Did not wanted to be sorted in Hufflepuff. In fact he wants to go home, or at least see if he can be resorted. Of course, that is impossible. Best subject is Potions, with Herbology as a second. Transfiguration is his weakness. He is an Arrows fan. In Alcove Five with Ernie MacMillan.

“It’s Slytherin, who you’re seen with is all important. That and who your family is, and what your parents do. Everyone knew who was going to be what in Slytherin. Then I had to be sorted in Hufflepuff, because, apparently, I will do well here. Mangy old hat!”

Ernie MacMillian

Ernie MacMillian – Outspoken and proud of the fact that his family has been Hufflepuffs for the last thirteen generations. He can’t understand why someone wouldn’t want to be a Hufflepuff. He’s a fan of the Wasps. Alcove-mate to Draco

“The Cannon contingent of this dorm do not realize how perfect it is for a Hufflepuff to be a fan of the Wasps. The colors match! Though I suppose that if there was a Quidditch team with badgers as their mascot they might be better … might.”

Roger Malone – Grew up in Dublin. His best subject is History, which he knows backwards and forwards before he even set foot in the classroom and hates Charms. He plays the cello and piano. He hates a certain composer of a Canon in D that shall not be mentioned in his presence. He’s a fan of the Magpies

“You will take up cello lessons. No, I’m not stopping you from making lame comments about Chuck Norris. Why did you ask?”

Neville Longbottom – Arguably the best Herbologist to be sorted into Hufflepuff in a generation. If it wasn’t for his wand he probably wouldn’t be having trouble with other classes. He’s a fan of classical music, especially waltzes. Rabid Arrows fan.

“I’m not brave, or anything like that. I just can’t let you make a mistake like that. Besides, the vine likes me better than it does you.”

Harry Potter – The core of Hufflepuff. No Death Eater can approach him without suffering pain. Big on the care of his younger siblings, which he’s unconscientiously included his fellow Hufflepuff first years in, even though he’s the youngest of them.

“From what the Auror told Aunt Petunia a few days later, Professor Quirel had been possessed by the seriously evil wizard who killed my parents, and the protection that my Mum created by her death for the rest of the family literally burnt the Wraith of You-Know-Who out of his body. He’d been possessed too long, effused with the wraith throughout his body, so he burnt up. I had nightmares for days. That smell.”

Justin Finch-Fletchly – He was going to be going to Eton. His mother once was a civil servant working for the House of Lords. His father works rather high up in London’s various Transport organizations, having a corner office at 55 Broadway Westminster. He can recite all the stations of the London Underground in any order you ask him to. Wasp fan, and model of a modern muggleborn Hufflepuff

“You better have three and a half minutes if you ask, Roger, a C please?”

Ron Weasley – Sixth of seven, somewhat and surprised that he’s not in Gryffindor. He’s also upset that he’s not getting away with slacking because his oldest brother is now Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor. Cannon fan extra-ordinary. Credits his sorting to Hufflepuff on something he said to his sister.

“My oldest brother is evil.Ending class with a tour of the library … how is that Defense Against the Dark Arts?”

Sean Cornfoot – Son of the team captain and starting Seeker of the Cannons. Spent years dressed as the cannon’s mascot and feels sorry for anyone who is forced to wear that outfit. Does not plan on becoming a Quidditch player, and most certainly not a Cannons player.

“Yet no one has every been caught curing the Cannons to lose. Win, yes, lose, no. It didn’t work. Heck, even liquid luck didn’t get us to win, and the Ministry sanctioned that attempt.”
